Code Of Behaviour
(Beaver Scout Colony, Cub Scout
Pack, Scout Troop)
Scouting is all about FUN, FRIENDSHIP and ADVENTURE and
these can only be achieved by working together. By
limiting our own freedom to do exactly as we like, we
provide a greater freedom for the Group as a whole and
everyone who is part of it. We all therefore need to
keep to a few simple rules. |
Uniform should be worn for all Scouting activities
unless notified to the contrary. |
Uniform
Uniform should be worn correctly, neatly and without
fuss during the formal parts of activities such as flag
break, grand howl, prayers, investitures and badge
presentations. |
Listen
Listen attentively when Leaders are explaining details
of games and activities. |
Wait until the person running an activity has finished
explaining the details before asking questions. |
Help minimise the amount of time spent listening to
instructions by avoiding interrupting, talking over
other people, chatting to others or making any noise. |
Be friendly to everyone, treating them in the way they
would like to be treated. |
Friendly and Helpful
Recognise that while you cannot always be best mates
with everyone, you do need to get along with them. So
aggressive behaviour such as name calling, bad language,
hitting them in any way and touching their property
should be avoided. |
Positive Approach
Always try your best in everything, even games and
activities that you do not like. |
Always encourage others by being constructive and
helping them to do better. Telling someone that they
are “useless” etc. is a good way to make them even
worse. |
Always tell the truth and show that you can be relied
upon to follow safety rules, be on time and do as you
are asked. |
Trust
