Beaver Scout Membership Quiz

To be invested as a Beaver Scout you need to gain the Beaver Scout Membership Award.  If you explore this website you should be able to find the answers needed.  You might need some help from mum or dad.  You can either print this page and write your answers or you can demonstrate your technical brilliance by emailing the answers to Falcon.
1. Attend at least four meetings List the 4 meetings - dates and activities

2 Get to know the other Members and Leaders in your Colony. 2.1 Name 6 other Beavers in the Colony.

3.2 What is the Colony closing ceremony?  
4 Find out about the activities available in the Colony. Talk to the Beavers and / or look at the Colony page and list 3 activities you would like to do.

5 Know and show an understanding of the Beaver Scout Promise 5.1 What is the 2nd line of the Beaver Scout Promise?

6 Know and show an understanding of the Scout Motto, Sign, Salute and Handshake. 6.1 What is the Motto?  
6.2 With which hand do Beavers salute?  
6.3 Baden-Powell copied the Scout handshake from the Zulus, as it is a sign of peace as they had to put their shields down to shake hands, showing they were unarmed.  Which hand is used?  
7 Know what to do at your Investiture. 7.1 Have you invited your Parents to your investiture?  
8 Know the meaning of the badges you will receive. 8.1 The World Membership badge has a fleur-de-lys (arrowhead) design and is worn by Scouts throughout the World.  What colour is it?  (See World page)  
8.2 The Leicestershire County badge features a fox.  What colour is the background?  (See World page)  
8.3 The Ashby and Coalville District badge reflects our mining and industrial past.  What colour is the background?  (See World page)  
9 Know the history of the family of Scouts and worldwide Scouting. 9.1 When was the first part of our Scout Group formed?  (Have a look at our Home page)  
Go to the Scout Association's national site www.scouts.org.uk and click on the Beaver logo.  List 3 things you find interesting.
