Castle Rock High School, January 2009

As our HQ was being refurbished we went to Castle Rock High School in Coalville for 2 weeks. Three teachers volunteered to help us and they were marvellous running fantastic indoor athletics activities and guiding our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts through the perils of the IT world.

We have retained the kitchen units but fitted new doors and worktops. We have also added a fridge and freezer as well as replacing the cooker. With the addition of the vinyl floor we will now have a hygenic kitchen that will give a lot of scope for cooking activities.


We fixed batons, inserted the heavy duty insulation between the batons before fixing the chipboard panels. Cutting out for the windows and electrical sockets was very time consuming.

While it will especially please the ladies, everyone will appreciate the difference between our grotty, manky former toilet and the 2 new cubicles that have been created.
