Ashby and Coalville Scout District

| The 1st Appleby Magna Scout Group is one
of 17 Scout Groups in the Ashby and Coalville Scout
District. Each Group has a Beaver Scout Colony,
Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop. |
 |
| The District also has 3 Explorer Scout
Units based at Donisthorpe, Ibstock and Whitwick, plus a
Scout Fellowship for adults. |
| The District has approximately 1,000 members and supports the Groups and
runs a range of District activities and competitions. |

Directions to Willesley Scout Camp
1. From Appleby Magna
go into Measham and through the High
Street.
2.
Immediately before the petrol station turn left, pass
over the A42 and go through Oakthorpe to Donisthorpe
3. At
Donisthorpe crossroads turn opposite to left towards
Ashby.
4. After
leaving Donisthorpe you will reach a crossroads, turn
opposite to left into Willesley Woodside (next to the
woods).
5. Turn left
onto a rough track that leads to
Willesley Scout Camp |

One of our
Leaders has spent the summers of 2005 and 2006 as a
member of staff at Kandersteg. Staff come from all
over the world (e.g. Denmark, USA, Brazil, Australia,
Ghana, Germany etc.) and are know as pinkies from their
shirts. |

Tasks have included leading Scouts on mountain
walks, catering, running discos and camp site
activities, belaying for climbers and abseiling and
helping village residents during a flood.
